Junior Gups are those who are not ready for the responsibility of learning martial arts; however, they have a great interest in learning the discipline required to prepare them for this mature curriculum. The minimum age is generally seven.
Gups usually are a minimum age of 8 years old. There is no maximum age limit for martial arts. There are no health requirements for martial arts, but each person must be honest and willing to adapt with the guidance of trained, experienced instructors.
Rank advancement is based on age, attitude, attendance, and skill retention; therefore, students will test for promotion when the instructor believes the student has obtained these attributes.
